The trouble with renaming a blog.

When I first began writing  this blog the "Google Go language" had just been released and after just a few days I had become pretty enamored with it. I thought it would be pretty cool to dig through this new language and blog about that process and thus was this blog born.

Over the past couple months though I've found myself talking about a wide range of topics and not often specifically about Go itself, so I've decided that instead of trying to reign myself in I'm going to continue to write on an eclectic group of subjects. This group will of course include Go programming as one of its topics, but I don't want to give you readers the wrong impression that this blog is focused exclusively on that topic.

So in light of all this I am renaming this blog "One billion extensible bits", extensibility of course is the ability for a system to embrace change without altering its infrastructure which is sort of what I'm trying to do right now, a billion bits is about one eights of a gigabyte, or in more practical terms about 128 megabytes.

So really I have no idea what "128 megabytes of extensible data" means but hopefully that will itself ensure that it works as a wide enough umbrella under which to operate this blog.

I am also changing the RSS syndication feed to http://feeds.feedburner.com/goplexian. Feedburner tells me that currently the blog has around 30 subscribers so if you happen to be one of them I hope that you will find this new mix of content interesting and helpful and will continue to stick around. The old subscription URL will continue to receive updates but they will show up under the old title, if you want to see the new blog title you will need to update to the new URL.

And finally, my thanks goes out to you subscribers. Seeing your numbers grow and reading your comments is quite encouraging and always interesting, I'm really enjoying writing this blog and I hope to hear from more of you in the future.
